I’m going to cheerfully admit that I barely intend to blog this weekend — it’s Memorial Day weekend, everyone’s away, and blog traffic tends to be light on the weekends anyway. But if you are around, buy a poppy from a veteran and turn out for the Memorial Day parade on Monday.
I keep going over this route with confusion. It’s three separate parades. I know the Grafton Elementary School band will be marching starting at Norcross Park, so I believe that, yes, these are three parade routes, probably designed to hit war memorials in different parts of town.
North Grafton: Parade starts at 9:45 a.m., starting at the North Grafton Elementary School and proceeding to Quinsigamond Corner with a stop at the bridge.
South Grafton: Parade starts at 10:30 a.m., starting at the library and proceeding to Soldiers Memorial.
Grafton Center: Parade starts at 11:15 a.m., starting at Norcross Park, stopping at the Common and ending at Grafton High School, via Oak Street. At noon there will be a flag-raising.
This is the little drummer boy’s first parade, and he’s absolutely thrilled. I’ll post pictures of the parade from Grafton Center sometime Monday.
Have a fantastic weekend!
