Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about baseball season — and no, I’m not going to begin a countdown to the start of Red Sox spring training, like a crazed former co-worker of mine used to do.
I’m talking amateur baseball. Little League. THE sport that matters in our house, the one that determines our family schedule, the mood of our oldest child from week to week and, inevitably, has its opening day parade fall on the weekend of our youngest child’s birthday celebration (we used to be able to convince her that the parade was in honor of her birthday but, alas, no longer).
Why am I talking about a spring sport the weekend before Thanksgiving? It’s time to sign up. And this year, for the first time, you can do all that online.
What? No hanging out at the Municipal Center? Nope. All you have to do is go here and either follow the online registration process or download a mail-in registration form.
The registration fee is $75 for children with league ages from 5 to 9 years old and $85 for children with a league age of 10 years old and older. Families registering more than 2 children will receive a $60 discount on all children after the first 2 children. All registrations received after February 1 will be subject to a $10 late fee.
