I just finished writing about the School Committee’s vote on Breathalyzers. It was discussed during the meeting what might happen if a student’s date, rather than a Grafton High student, was found drunk at the dance. Would the Grafton student face punishment?
Principal James Pignataro said in those situations they generally contact the principal of the date.
I chuckled to myself in amusement. I just tried to picture how the chancellor of UMass Amherst would have responded if my principal had called to tell him my prom date had been intoxicated. “A UMass student? Drinking? Shocking.” Would he have been more shocked if he called him with the truth about that night — no drinking happened at all?
