JetBlue will service Worcester

jetblueIt’s official: JetBlue will be flying from Worcester Regional Airport.

The airport will be the 80th city for the airline, which will start flights on Nov. 7 with daily service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

The addition of a name-brand airline is hoped to provide a boost to the airport, which has struggled to retain service. Last spring Direct Air, the only remaining airline, filed for bankruptcy and cancelled all flights, leaving many travelers in the lurch just before April school vacation.

The Telegram has more.
