Grafton’s Rob Wilson doffs shirt, takes on role on ‘All My Children’

RobWilsonWhy hello, Rob Wilson! What brings you to Greater Grafton today?

Wilson, 25, a 2006 graduate of Grafton High School, has joined the cast of “All My Children.” The actor is best known for his stint on “The Price Is Right” as the game show’s first male model, a stint that began with a contest last October.

“All My Children” went off the air in 2011 after 41 years on ABC but it is continuing online through Hulu and iTunes. Wilson plays Pete Cortlandt and, I’m just hazarding a guess, but I’m betting he’ll be frequently shirtless. Here’s some info about the show, along with cast photos, at Entertainment Weekly.

Back in October, I spent a lovely morning attempting to find a photo in Wilson’s modeling portfolio (he’s a Ford Model in L.A. and appeared in print ads modeling Emporio Armani men’s underwear) that would be deemed “family friendly” enough for the standards at, you know, that place I used to work. I believe I located just one where he’s wearing a shirt, god bless the lad.

I also chatted with him on the phone and he was really charming.

Wilson’s first role was a small part in “Bride Wars” with Anne Hathaway, followed by a role in “Surrogates” with Bruce Willis. Other highlights include a a role as a frat pledge in “The Social Network” and roles on “Entourage,” “Friends With Benefits” and “The Secret Life of an American Teenager.” He’s also appeared in music videos with Toni Braxton, David Guetta and Fergie and Victoria Justice. He was on “The Middle” last fall.
