The newsweekly chose the top 2,000 high schoo in the country, based on a survey sent out to more than 5,000 high schools in the United States, with 2,500 responding. The survey scores were calculated using criteria including on-time graduation and college acceptance rates, as well as the percentage of students enrolled in AP, IB or Advance International Certificate courses.
The survey shows Grafton High with a 94 percent graduation rate, with 90 percent of its students continuing to college. Average SAT score is 1603, average ACT score is 24.9, average AP score is 3.7.
Of the 43 high schools in Massachusetts chosen in the survey, Grafton placed 36th in the state. Boston Latin School placed first with an overall ranking of 116.
Other local schools that placed include Hopkinton High School (257), Algonquin Regional High School (443), Shrewsbury High School (587), Tahanto Regional High School (910) and Westborough High School (1,421).
