Memorial Day is Monday and while the rest of the weekend looks to be rainy, it looks like the sun will be shining on Grafton’s veterans, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who will step off in the annual Memorial Day parade.
The Memorial Day celebration begins in the morning, when veterans visit each of the town’s seven cemeteries.
Following the cemetery services, various war memorials are visited around town before the main event: a parade from Norcross Field on North Street to Grafton High School, with a stop at Grafton Common for a reading of the names of Grafton’s fallen soldiers. Town officials, Grafton Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and bands from Grafton High School, Grafton Middle School and Grafton Elementary School will be participating in the parade through Grafton’s center.
