Grafton High teams are high-flying in the playoffs

GraftonLacrosseGrafton lacrosse beat Shrewsbury Tuesday in the district semi-finals, going on to the district championship Saturday against St. John’s. The game is at 3 p.m. at Foley Field — expect it to be brutal, since the second-seeded Grafton is going up against the top seed.

Grafton softball tonight goes to the semi-finals against first-seeded Hudson at Worcester State University at 7. The winner of THAT game goes to the district finals Saturday against the winner of the Leicester/Notre Dame game.

Above is one of many, many shots from the Grafton/Groton-Dunstable game — which marked my very first appearance in the Lowell Sun. Oddly enough, I’d never shot for print or appeared on the sports page in my past incarnation as a newspaper reporter. I’m really hoping for a softball matchup against a Lowell-area team, so the brackets have me rooting for Tewksbury tonight, I guess.
